This time of year, you just can’t beat piling in the car with to-go mugs of hot cocoa, some candy canes, Christmas tunes, and a map of places to go look at Christmas lights! Central Arkansas is packed with awesome light displays for viewers of all ages and kinds. We’ve compiled a list of fun places in Central Arkansas to take in the shimmery sights of Christmas lights!
The Capital Hotel
Located in the heart of Downtown Little Rock, The Capital Hotel has been around for nearly a century and a half! Its historic architecture makes for a breathtaking Christmas scene. The focal point of the decor is the massive, ornate tree! While you’re here, you can enjoy a meal at the hotel’s bar and grille or restaurant, a traditional holiday tea time on the balcony, or even a luxurious overnight stay.
The State Capital
The enormous State Capital building is lined with hundreds of thousands of bulbs each year for the Holidays! Though we wouldn’t volunteer to hang up lights at those heights, we sure did enjoy looking at them! As you drive down Capital Ave, the view comes into focus, and everything feels merry and bright. This is a must see!
Sherwood’s Enchanted Forest Trail of Lights
Every year, from a bit before Thanksgiving through December 30th, the City of Sherwood puts on a Trail of Lights that most of us know as The Enchanted Forest! This trail is so much fun because you don’t have to leave your car! Cruise through over a mile of light displays unlike any others you’ve ever seen before. You can get in free of cost, but donations are encouraged to fund new displays in the future!
Downtown Conway
Though it’s much more quaint than Little Rock’s Capital Hotel and the State Capital, downtown Conway’s Christmas display does not disappoint! The larger-than-life tree, the funnel cakes and hot cocoa, and the ferris wheel make this spot perfect for a Holiday date. Be sure to peruse some of the local shops in the historic downtown area while you’re here!
Glisten in Greenbrier (at Matthew Park)
New to Central Arkansas, Greenbrier’s Matthew park has put on quite the show for Christmas! From shiny new light displays to an actual ice rink for skating on, this place has so much to offer for a night of Holiday fun. Take in the sights, get your skate on, and even play on the playground! It sounds like Santa even made an appearance or two. Learn more!
